Donors Choose
Major media outlets from The Wall Street Journal to Fortune to CNN Money have lauded this innovative model’s crowd-sourced approach to fund-raising, taking the needs and issues of American education directly to the public. Proposals must come from teachers, but there is freedom to ask for trips and other big-ticket items. According to The New York Times, DonorsChoose tells teachers: “Ask for what you need.” http://www.donorschoose.org/
